Featuring Hydrotherapy, BEMER, and Positive Reinforcement Training
Dudley was a reluctant swimmer. Swimming him with his younger brother, a confident swimmer, helped Dudley overcome his fears and take the plunge on his own.
Deb and Ava came to me this winter to work on building pool confidence. Deb has always wanted a dog that would enjoy her pool. Ava likes the water, but was not launching in the pool. We tapped into Ava’s hunt drive, brought out her duck, and away we went.
Erica has been helping clients in a water environment for over a decade. We specialize in teaching dogs how to swim with joy. Erica's performance clients like to cross train in the water using water behaviors to stimulate the mind. We just launched our new service of on-line courses! Swimming, water resistance walking, and an under-water treadmill work together to relax the body, mind, and improve blood circulation. Water buoyancy relieves the pressure caused by gravity to the joints. Warm water improves circulation and relaxes tense muscles.
Our climate-controlled pool buildings with in-ground pools, and a Ferno underwater treadmill provide a safe and comfortable water environment for year round use. Some examples of our services include, but are not limited to:
BEMER is designed to improve circulation thereby support the body’s natural self-regulating processes. Blood is the body’s universal means of transport. Oxygen, nutrients, chemical messengers (e.g., hormones) and immune cells are all transported through our blood. When our body’s cells, tissues and organs are adequately nourished and metabolic waste products are removed, our bodies become healthy and function properly. The optimal regulation of circulation is a prerequisite for ensuring good levels of health and fitness.
Book my Appointment"Newton is our 18 year old terrier mix who we first brought to Marty’s Place to see if swim therapy would help with his increasingly weakening hind legs. He was having trouble standing and walking and we had hoped that swimming would help to strengthen his muscles. Unfortunately, he did not like the water, but before we left our initial consultation, Erica, asked if we wanted to try Bemer therapy. I’m so glad we did because it has made such a positive impact on Newton’s life! Not only are we seeing him move around much easier, but his disposition is better and has helped with some incontinence issues we were facing. While he’s on the mat, he gets all the treats he wants and has really become quite the outing for him! If you have a senior dog or any dog dealing with joint or inflammation issues, we would highly recommend trying the Bemer!"
