Introduction to Water and Bathing
A mini course and
virtual workshop on February 24th @ 7pm EST
In this workshop, your dog will go from being unsure about water and bathing to splashing around with joy and delight.
I have been wanting to do this topic for a long time. This is the subject matter that bridges my swim business with my online grooming classes.
I know it is hard for people to find their new puppies a positive water introduction in the winter. I wanted to be able to help winter puppies that did not live close to my indoor swim business. I tell everyone that a puppy should be introduced to water around 12 weeks of age, and definitely by 16 weeks. This is my attempt at bringing a positive water introduction to your home
In my swim business I see so many dogs that do not want to be rinsed. Many dogs may like swimming, but do not like getting bathed. We can change how our dog feels about the bathing experience in the comfort of our home. For puppies…we can help prepare them for their first bathing experiences.

We will be spending time together practicing the mechanics. You can ask me questions during the session. -
Methods to help your dog through challenges of water being “put” on them.
Dogs are not comfortable with water being forced onto them. We practice and review techniques to help your dog through this challenge. -
The start to your dog having skills to be comfortable at the groomer.
No matter your dog’s coat type, at some point they will need a bath. This will give your dog positive experiences that will transfer over for the groomer.

The format of the workshop produces successful results. This is the same format I use for my Dremel Like a Boss program. Their results can be directly tied to this formal style. There is lecture, demo, PRACTICE, and Q&A. This is an active workshop. Participants will have time to do the exercises and ask questions. You get immediate feedback.

I have been swimming dogs a really long time. I swim dogs indoors and outdoors. I have become the go to person to introduce dogs to swimming. It always breaks my heart when someone comes with their six month old puppy and they are afraid of the water. It is so much harder to introduce swimming to an older dog than to a 12 to 16 week old puppy.
I know getting every puppy to a pool during this time may be unrealistic, but using a container for a water introduction is something everyone can do. Join me to learn how easy it can be for your dog of today or tomorrow.
